    SPIC MACAY – VIRASAT FESTIVALS

SPIC MACAY is a national society for promotion of Indian classical music and culture amongst youth. It seeks to conserve and promote an awareness of the rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry amongst the youth of this country through focus on the classical arts, with their attendant legends, rituals, mythology and philosophy and to facilitate an awareness of their deeper and subtler values.

At Blue Bell we strive to inculcate in our students an appreciation of our rich cultural heritage. We regularly host SPIC MACAY events featuring Indian classical music and classical Indian dance. Artists such as Teejan Bai, Geeta Chandran, Pandit Pratik Chaudhury, Sunanda Sharma and Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra have visited us and performed their crafts to a rapturous applause of our students.

INDEPENDENCE AND REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

indisa

15th August and 26th January of every year are a golden day in the history of our country. Marking our freedom from colonial rule and declaration of republic respectively, these are days worth a celebration. At Blue Bell School we celebrate these by hoisting the national flag, playing our national anthem with fervour and distributing sweets. We use these moments to sail back into the past to remember and pay homage to the builders of our nation.
Siver Jubilee   OUR SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATION

The academic year 2010-2011 marked twenty-five years of Blue Bell. The school focussed on the celebration during the course of the year in a variety of ways.  All its former staff members and old students were contacted  to join the celebration. Alumni came from all over the country to attend the annual reunion lunch and paid rich tributes to their alma mater.

Cultural events were organized in the school with full enthusiasm on the occasion. Prof. Rajendra Prasad, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, attended the event as Chief Guest. The programme began with the welcome speech by the Principal followed by the presentation of the annual report. The souvenir `Blossoms` of the school was released by Prof. Prasad. The cultural programme that followed , included dances from different states of India, western dance, English plays and Hindi playlets performed by the school children.

This was followed by the distribution of prizes and certificates to the participants of cultural activities. Awards were also given to the best orator, best singer, best house and academic achievers by the Chief Guest. He  applauded the efforts of the school and gave blessings to the students. He pointed out that the significant change in the lives and the attitude of the people of the city amply demonstrates the success of the school. The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal, Mrs. Malvika Dube.
